Hybrid work schedule: 3-day/week in office requirement

Description

This person will assist in acquiring technology products and services for ITD and the County. Additionally, they’ll be helping to evaluate vendors, ensure cost-effectiveness, and align purchases with the County’s strategic goals. They need an understanding of the tech market, trends, and products, as well as analytical and administrative skills.

Job Duties may include:

  1. Staying informed about tech-industry-specific trends and new technology to assist with developing specifications.
  2. Assisting with tech-industry-specific studies, gathers information, makes accurate analysis, evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations, and prepares reports for Executive Leadership within ITD and other County departments/agencies.
  3. Assisting with research and evaluates Technology options for countywide information technology needs.
  4. Assessing technology options to identify best value products and services for ITD and Countywide clients.
  5. Developing and cultivating relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient communication and collaboration.
  6. Ensuring compliance with County policies, procedures, and regulations related to technology acquisition.
  7. Using various ITD technology systems (e.g., Ivanti, ProSys and Filenet) to ensure timely and accurate delivery and tracking of technology services and products.
  8. Following ITD’s internal approval process.
  9. Facilitating ITD’s Technology Acquisition Request (TAR) process.
  10. Using acquisition life cycle for all items and services purchased.
  11. Identifying potential issues and escalates them as necessary.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of:

  • Principles, practices, and methods of purchasing in a public agency.
  • Technical hardware and software.
  • Technology industry-specific trends and current service and supply acquisition practices.
  • Applicable policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Financial and contract record keeping.
  • Mathematics as applied to purchasing.

Minimum Qualifications

The equivalent of three (3) years of full-time professional purchasing experience, which includes coordination of the full acquisition life cycle, developing and preparing contracts, specifications, and cost analysis, with preferred experience in IT hardware and software.
